Staff

Dr. Shane Kinnison, Pastor:

Dr. Shane became the pastor of First Baptist Waxahachie in 2005. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two sons, Shelden and Stetson. Dr. Shane is a graduate from Texas Tech University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University. Dr. Shane and Stephanie enjoy following their sons in their school and athletic events. Dr. Shane is leading First Baptist Waxahachie to become a missional church and to continue the Vision Waxahachie journey as he leads us to build relationship bridges in our community.

Dan McClinton, Minister of Education:

After 41 years of full time music ministry and a short retirement Dan comes to First Baptist as part time Minister of Christian Education. Dan enjoys golf, tai chi, 3 grandchildren and traveling with his wife Myla. Dans ministry goal is to equip people to lead and teach the word of God effectively.

Chett Haynes, Minister of Music:

Chett Haynes joined the First Baptist Waxahachie staff in 2008. He and his wife April have two children, Melody and Trent. He enjoys outdoor activites with his family. Chett desires to inspire people to worship God through music.

Chris Walker, Minister to Students:

Chris joined First Baptist Waxahachie in 2008 as the Minister to Students. He is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University. He and his wife, Amberly, have a deep love for students and want to see them grow spiritually as they mature into young men and women.

Laura Edmondson, Minister to Children:

Laura joined First Baptist Waxahachie in 2006 with a passion for children and a love of all things fun. Laura is a Baylor graduate (sic em Bears) and completed her MA in Christian Education from DBU in 2006. She enjoys traveling, reading, playing computer solitaire and watching sports with all the guys at her house. Laura and her husband, Greg have three wonderful sons ndash; Matt, Tim, and Jeff. Laurarsquo;s desire is for every child to know that God loves him, church is a happy and safe place to be, and people at church love him. Through those relationships, children are introduced to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Jerry W. Lemon, Minister to Senior Adults:

Jerry W. Lemon and his wife, Martha, moved to Waxahachie in 2006. They became faithful members of our church and began immediately serving the Lord. He was called as Minister to Senior Adults in 2007. He is a graduate from Baylor University (B.A. and Ph.D.) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (B.D. and M.Div.). Prior to coming to Waxahachie, he served as an editor in chief at Lifeway Christian Resources and continues to write Bible study lessons for Lifeway and lead conferences and Bible studies. His goal in ministry is to help adults experience the wonderful spiritual blessings made possible through Jesus Christ.

Roger Hall, Adminstrator:

Roger Hall has served as Administrator since 2005. Roger is a CPA and ordained minister, having been in financial and administrative ministry for 33 years. He is a graduate of Missouri State University and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and he has been certified in accounting practice since 1973. He and his wife Donna have two daughters and four grandchildren. Rogerrsquo;s ministry goal is to lead the church to be financially healthly and to enable the ministries of First Baptist Waxahachie to minister effectively and efficiently.

Lea Sullivan, Minister of Community Development
Director of First Steps Mothers Day Out:

Lea Sullivan joined the staff in 2007. She is a graduate from Abilene Christian University (BBA) and has received her Special Education Certification through Region 10/Texas AM, Commerce. Lea and her husband, Robert, have two boys, Alec and Cole. She and her husband enjoy spending their "off" time with their sons, volunteering at Alecs school, running, and studying/teaching Bible studies together. Her desire is to minister to all children and families, in hope, that they will see the Glory of God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Tyler OTeter, Facilities Director:

Tyler has been taking care of our facilities since 2001. He has been married to his wife Nancy for 55 years. They have six children and 17 grandchildren. Tylers ministry goal is to provide safe, usable spaces that enhance all the ministries of First Baptist Waxahachie.

Terry Bensmiller, Communication Coordinator:

Terry joined the staff as the Communication Coordinator in 2008. She is responsible for the web site and weekly publications as well as special church-wide communication projects. She and her husband Barry have lived in Waxahachie since 1990. Their God-daughter Mitzi lives with them and is a nursing student. Her desire is to communicate clearly Gods vision for First Baptist Waxahachie as well as to help build bridges in the church and beyond.

Shirley Rodgers, Assistant to the Pastor:

Shirley has been on staff since 1999 and currently serves as the Assistant to the Pastor. Shirley and her husband Jay have lived in Waxahachie since 1988. They have four grown children and four grandchildren. Shirleys ministry goal is to serve the members of First Baptist Waxahachie as well as the many people God puts in her path everyday.

Linda Buckner, Ministerial Assistant:

Linda Buckner joined the staff of First Baptist Church in 2002. She was born and raised in Waxahachie. Linda is married to Dale and has one son, Jonathan, and one grandson, Michael. Her ministry is to assist various ministers with their administrative tasks while also performing the duties of receptionist.

Shirley Langford, Financial Assistant:

Shirley joined the staff of First Baptist Church in 1997. She is responsible for keeping books of all the financial transactions for First Baptist and for preparing all financial reports. She and her husband Ronny have two grown sons Ronny J. and Jeremy and a grandson, Dylan. Shirley desires to be accurate and concise in her ministry.
