Work Experience: I have been in the ministry since 1984 serving Hulen Street Baptist in Fort Worth, Mountain Brook Baptist in Birmingham Alabama, FBC in Crockett, and Jersey Village Baptist.

Activities/Hobbies: I enjoy hunting, fishing and working out.

Family:  I am married to April, and we have a son, Trent, a daughter, Melody, and a son-in-law, Cameron.

Education:  University of Texas and Baptist Seminary

Work Experience:  I worked over 25 years for churches in Dallas County prior to coming to First Baptist Church of Waxahachie in 2008.

Activities/Hobbies:  I am involved in the Ellis County Singers, Silver Serenaders, and Waxahachie’s Old Fashioned Singing.  I enjoy being outside, and love running and water activities especially water skiing.

Favorite Scripture:  2 Corinthians 3:18 “ And we all, who with unveiled faces reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Education: I graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Work Experience:  I worked five years for Belmont Baptist Church in Abilene and First Baptist in Hubbard prior to joining First Baptist in Waxahachie in 2013. 

 Activities/Hobbies: Sports!  I enjoy woodworking, playing Frisbee with our dogs, and hanging out with my wife.

Education: Baylor University: Bachelor of Arts with a religion major (1956) and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Biblical Studies (1975); Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary: Bachelor of Divinity (1961) and Master of Divinity (1969).


Ministry: Minister in Texas for 39 years; full-time editor for LifeWay Christian Resources and part-time pastor of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Nashville for 14 years; retired and moved to Waxahachie November 2006. Has served as part-time minister to Senior Adults at First Baptist Church since November 1, 2007. Also grades papers for Seminary Extension of Southern Baptist Convention and occasionally writes for Lifeway Christian Resources.

Favorite Scriptures: John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Education: I studied music and business for two years at Dallas Baptist University.  I then transferred to University of Texas in Arlington and earned my Bachelor Degree in Information Systems.

Work Experience: Prior to my joining First Baptist in Waxahachie, I worked in IT as a web developer for Global Aid Network whose parent company is Campus Crusade for Christ.

Activities/Hobbies: I do what I love! I enjoy guitars, design, and making videos.
