Meet the Pastor Search Team

The Senior Pastor Search Team exists to prayerfully seek the man God is calling to lead our church into its next season. Every step of the process is guided by Scripture, prayer, wisdom, and unity in the Holy Spirit.

The team meets at a minimum once each month and works collectively across all aspects of the search, while also carrying specific individual roles to ensure clarity and thoroughness throughout the process. 

Each member has completed Texas Baptist associational training on the Pastor selection process and is committed to seeking God’s guidance as they serve our church family during this important season.

Kevin James

Committee Chair

Kevin and his wife, McKenzie, have been members of FBC since 2023. He is active on our Contemporary Worship Team and attends the second service. Kevin has strong organizational skills and a project management background.

David and his wife, Angie, have been members of FBC since 2020. He currently teaches a Bible study class, attends the first service and has prior HR team experience.

Joe and his wife, Lesa, have been members of FBC since 1991. He is active with the “You’re Invited Team” and attends the first service.

Justin and his wife, Haleigh, have been members of FBC since 2023. He leads our First Impressions Team and attends the second service.

Melissa and her husband, John, have been members of FBC since 2013. She co-teaches a Bible study class and attends the first service.

Shawna is glad to say she’s been attending FBC all her life because she was born the same year her parents joined the church. She and her husband, Derrick, have children involved in the NextGen Ministry and attend the second service.

Kalie and her husband, Austin, have been members of FBC since 2023. They have children involved in our NextGen Ministry and attend the second service.

Paul has been a member of FBC since 1993. He currently serves on our Leadership and Finance Teams. He and his wife, Stephanie, attend the second service.

Ken and his wife, Dietra, have been members of FBC since 1980. He teaches a Bible study Class and attends the second service. Ken also serves on our Leadership Team.

Amy Garrett

Amy and her husband, Steve, have been members of FBC since 2023. They lead the College and Young Adult Ministry and attend the second service.

Monthly Prayer

The Pastor Search Team invites our church family to intentionally pray for them throughout this month, focusing on Ephesians 3:20–21.

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

The process could take up to 18 months, if not longer. Please remember, the committee is not just searching for a new pastor, but for God's heart for our church. God's timing is perfect, and He will reveal our next pastor in His time. 

Yes, church members are welcome to submit candidates for consideration! Simply email your recommendation to pastorsearch@fbcwax.org.

Yes, according to the bylaws of FBC Waxahachie, the church will vote on all recommended candidates.
