Area 56

A ministry just for 5th and 6th graders, creating a place to belong, grow in faith and build lasting connections during this key transition.

Area 56

Area 56 is a ministry designed just for 5th and 6th graders—a place where preteens can belong, grow and thrive as they take their next steps in faith. Positioned between Kids Ministry and Student Ministry, Area 56 bridges the gap so no one gets lost during this important transition.

What to Expect

What to Expect

In Area 56, students can expect to grow in faith and friendships through small groups that build community, Bible-based teaching that connects truth to everyday life and service projects that put their faith into action. Caring leaders provide mentoring and guidance, while outings and fellowship create fun opportunities to connect. Students also get the chance to spend time with older peers, all within an age-appropriate structure designed to help them feel supported and equipped.

Midweek

Midweek

Midweek is one of the best times for 5th and 6th graders to connect, recharge and grow in their faith. Meeting every week from 5:30–7:30 PM, students gather for engaging Bible teaching, fun activities and small group time designed to build friendships and encourage them in their walk with Jesus. With a mix of high-energy games, interactive lessons, and meaningful conversations, Midweek helps students experience consistent community while learning how to live out their faith in everyday life.

Yes! Each volunteer must undergo a thorough background check and training before being allowed to serve all NextGen ministries.

We have several iPads available to check in your child(ren) at the front of the NextGen kids doors. Just ask a helpful volunteer at the desk to show you! Each child will have a tag with a secure number on it; each parent will receive a tag with the same number. You must show the numbers match in order to check out your child at the end of service.

Each Sunday, your child will discover how much God loves them through age-appropriate Bible stories, worship, fun activities, and meaningful discussions. Our goal is to help every child know three core truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever!

To help keep everyone healthy, we ask that you please keep your child home if they’re showing any signs of illness. If a child develops a fever of 100.1°F or higher while in our care, we will kindly notify you during the service so you can come and pick them up. Thank you for helping us create a safe and healthy environment for all our kids and volunteers!
